One interesting bad habit I’ve noticed among people who feel anxious before public speaking is inadequate preparation.
Preparation includes rehearsing and practicing your speech over and over again (as many times as necessary until it becomes natural and comfortable).
It also includes your basic knowledge and expertise on your subject-matter.
If you’re due to give a presentation, now is not the time to be lazy. It’s time to study as much as possible, anticipate questions, and deepen your basic knowledge of your field.
Not only will you actually know what you’re talking about and give a better presentation, but you will also feel more prepared and confident before taking the stage.
